When I was in Patna during summer this year, I enquired a few rickshaw pullers about any change or progress happening in the city and Bihar since Nitish took over as Chief Minister. Everyone's response was very positive and some even went on to declare that Nitish had already done 95% of the work for the state and only 5% more was required.
Such is the simplicity of expectation from common and poor people of Bihar. People who haven't seen any positive change in last 15 - 20 years in the state have been overwhelmed by the recent development efforts of Nitish government. In a state where there is so much to be done in areas of education, infrastructure development, women empowerment, security and fighting corruption, small efforts have made an impression on the people of Bihar.
This impression has reflected in the recent state elections and people have reinstated their faith in Nitish government. Analysts and media are convinced that people have chosen development over caste politics. Probably yes this time, but can this attitude be sustained is a question. People of Bihar should ensure that future elections in the state are never fought on caste and religion. If people voted for Nitish to bring his government back to power because they saw a hope for development then it is time to hope for more. It is time for people of Bihar to demand and aspire that their state tops the rank amongst the most progressive states of the country.

I fully agree with your views. If Bihar is gone 15 years behind because of last 3-4 CMs, we need to give our current CM changes for at least 3-4 terms to make it in better shape. The other point is Nitish's government has the capability to win all by self without even BJP, none of the parties in Bihar as the capability to win all by self. And we know what happens in case of co-ollation governments.
